# Life Events

> Record baptisms, weddings, dedications, funerals, and other milestones on member timelines.

**Life Events** captures sacraments and milestones — baptisms, weddings, funerals, births, and more — so pastoral teams remember key dates and members see their journey on their profile.

## How-to Guide

### Event types

Types are configurable in **Catalogs** (life event types). Common examples:

| Type | Typical use |
| ----------------------- | ------------------------------------ |
| **Baptism** | Believer's baptism date and location |
| **Wedding** | Marriage ceremony |
| **Dedication** | Child dedication |
| **Funeral** | Memorial service |
| **Ordination** | Ministry commissioning |
| **Birth / Anniversary** | Family milestones |

Each card shows a color-coded type badge, date, optional location, and linked member.

### Timeline on member profiles

Life events feed the **Journey** tab on **Member** detail pages alongside interviews and membership events — giving elders a single timeline before visits.
