# Circles

> Create a trusted church network and publish so material stays inside a denomination, association, or private group.

**Circles** are named trusted networks: a denomination, an association, a regional group, or a private set of churches. Publishing targets a circle by default — not the whole catalog. Members are churches, shown as community identities. There is no chat.

## Quick Start

1. Open **Community** → **Circles**. An admin must have set **Identity** first.
2. **Create circle**, or **Accept** an invite, or **Request to join** / **Join** from the directory.
3. When you **Publish a hymn**, keep reach on **Circles** unless you intend the whole catalog.

## How-to Guide

### Create and invite

  <Step title="Create the circle">
    Choose a name, kind (denomination, association, region, or private group), and who can join (invite only, request, or open). Your church becomes the steward.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Invite churches">
    Open the circle → **Invite a church**. Search by the other church’s **public catalog name** (a generated pseudonym unless they opted in to their real name).
  </Step>

  <Step title="They accept">
    The invited church sees the invite on **Circles** and **Accepts**. You then see each other only as community identities — never a legal tenant name.
  </Step>

<Tip>
  The last steward cannot leave. Archive is a later steward action if the network should close.

### Publish to a circle

On **Published** → **Publish a hymn**, **Who can discover this** defaults to **Circles** when your church belongs to one. Pick the circles. **All members** lists it in the whole catalog. **Private** stays in your church only.
